Wine Tasting
The wine tasting experience offers award-winning Spier wine paired with innovative food offerings. The stylish venue, on the banks of the popular Spier dam, has stunning views of the Helderberg mountains.
Tastings include:
- Spier Tasting: choose 3 wines from our Signature range and one from each of the two premium wine ranges, 21 Gables and Creative Block (R35.00 per person).
- Heritage Tasting: a food and wine pairing of Spier’s 21 Gables Chenin Blanc and 21 Gables Pinotage, paired with traditional South African fare. (R80.00 per person).
- Frans K Smit Tasting of the two premium wine ranges plus Spier’s flagship wine, Frans K Smit (R90.00 per person).
- Food platters to pair with the tastings will also be available for sale.
A collection of new and recycled furniture in wood – including John Vogel’s Nguni chairs and parquet tables by Allan Lutge – provide seated tasting arrangements for guests. A magnificent chandelier – made by renowned artists Heath Nash from 334 recycled Spier wine bottles and weighing 370kgs – hangs above the state-of-the-art tasting counter. In fact, recycling is a major theme in the centre, in line with Spier's sustainable ethos.
For groups of 8 or more a reservation is required. Groups will be accommodated in the Tasting Room at the Cow House. Please ensure that bookings are made and confirmed at least 48 hours in advance.

Wine club members will receive a membership card with a unique card number. This card should be represented at point of purchase to redeem club benefits. The card will be accompanied by a detailed list of benefits whereby terms and conditions will apply.
Become a Spier Wine Club Member by purchasing 12 bottles of wine upon sign up. Wine club members are required to purchase 24 bottles per year, and will receive a free 1.5 litre magnum of wine with their first purchase of 24 bottles or more.
